Plant Propagation Bench for Seedlings and Cuttings

I’ll continue with the Seed Starting 101 Series tomorrow but I thought I would use today’s post to share with you a related project. Recently I purchased a seedling heatmat that I’ve been testing in the garage to see how seedlings will grow out there.  The results have been pretty good so far with good germination rates for kale, chard, spinach, and even heuchera.  In fact the heucheras are nearly ready to transplant into larger pots. They are small but I’m estimating in a week I can transplant the tiny heucheras individually into pots. Homebuilder Confidence Reaches New Highs

Homebuilders are counting the glass half-full going into 2012, according to recent survey results released by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Despite the significant headwinds that suggest a housing recovery may be years in the making, the NAHBs monthly builder confidence index shows that builder confidence was at a 19-month high of 21 in December, marking gains since the industry suffered one of its worst years on record in 2011. Growth in some local markets, some stabilization in employment, record low interest rates and high housing affordability are just some of the factors buoying spirits in this hard hit sector.
